DIY Macrame Hanging Terrarium

I made this little beauty for a secret santa exchange this past weekend. It looks complicated but it's actually very easy. I figured out how to do it by following a tutorial on etsy (http://www.etsy.com/blog/en/2012/make-a-macrame-plant-hanger/)

I chose to forgo the metal ring and tied a loop out of the thick string. I also just tied the end into a knot as apposed to the extra string tying/cutting. I did not add pom poms.

I bought an inexpensive vase from the dollar store as well as some rocks. I then went to a florist and purchased an air plant (ie: tillandsia), which only needs to be dunked in water or given a good spray every 2 weeks. No soil required!

Summer Lovin

love his dry humor and constant pithy dialogue. this is an easy read that constantly has me giggling out loud, as all of his books do. if you have to pick just one me talk pretty one day is a sure hit.

5. panama hat
works with pretty much any outfit. i'm still on the hunt for this perfect summer hat!

With fashion tv, magazines and advertisements constantly expressing themselves using "heroin chic" models who exhibit visibly emaciated bodies, it is a breath of fresh air to see a push toward a healthier body image in the form of "plus sized" models.
