Lovely Lady Lumps

With fashion tv, magazines and advertisements constantly expressing themselves using "heroin chic" models who exhibit visibly emaciated bodies, it is a breath of fresh air to see a push toward a healthier body image in the form of "plus sized" models. Plus size meaning a size 12 or larger, but, often anything above a size 8... These girls are gorgeous, have curves and look like fiercely real, beautiful women. I feel like, as long as you're healthy, you should take pride in whatever body you've got!

Ashley Graham

This lovely lady is a 24 year old from Lincoln, Nebraska. She is 5ft 9" with measurements of 38D. 34. 47  / Dress size: 16. She was signed by Ford Models.

Tara Lynn

An American born, 5ft. 9" beauty. Her measurements are 38-34-47. Her dress size is 16.

Kate Dillon

This stunning woman was called "Overweight Kate" in school. This effected her to the point that she became anorexic and malnourished. Seeking out help, Kate quite the modelling business, started seeing a nutritionist and and put on some much needed pounds. She started modeling again, plus-sized this time, and was named one of People Magazine's most beautiful people in 2000. She stands tall at 5 ft. 11" and wears a size 10.

Wish List

Christmas is right around the corner and with that comes the ever coveted wish list. Eat your heart out Santa!

I know I'm boring but this KitchenAid 13-cup Food Processor, KFP1333 is at the top of my list! It has two external blade sizes to slice all of your veggies for you!

These Work of Art Deco Earrings found at Modcloth.com would go perfectly with my New Year's Eve dress for the 007 themed party

The dapper animal prints by Berkley Illustration can be found on Etsy.com. They would look amazing framed on  my wall!

If you're the type of person who needs a calendar to keep your dates and times straight, like me,  this beautiful creation would do just fine; not to mention it doubles as artwork

From the same etsy store as above, thisyearsgirl.etsy.com, this foxy gentleman caught my eye immediately!

In case the art for the walls isn't distinguished enough, a lovely gentleman's collar for Stanley Cat would be ever so nice; http://www.etsy.com/listing/82358114/rover-pointed-collar-smlxl

I can't get enough of collared shirts, though they can be a little plain at times. Dressing them up is easy with these collar clips by ladybirdlikes and KiuMiStorehouse found on etsy.com

HALLOWEEN!!!!!

As anyone who knows me is aware...I LOVE Halloween! I love the scary, spooky, haunted black magic of the day and cannot wait to start decorating, getting my costume together and eating way too much candy! Me and the man will be having a Halloween get together this year and I was using good old google images to get inspired

I also found some great recipes I can't wait to try out from myrecipes.com and allrecipes.com; things like tombstone cookies, witches' brew and mini caramel apples. As far as the costume goes, the winner is....The Corpse Bride! Hopefully I'll have time to sew the giant curtain I found at value viallge into a wedding dress skirt....

Until next time....

Gothic Chic

I don't know what it is about the encroaching fall/winter season but, during this time, I constantly fall in love with what I like to call Gothic Chic. I was never that angsty adolescent shrouded in all black (though I did express my fair share of angst) but I did dabble a bit in punk rock music and fashion ect. Maybe trending toward the darkened pallet has something to do with the doom and gloom I feel when thinking about the coming Vancouver winter season, or, maybe it's just that it looks hella sexy....
