DIY Macrame Hanging Terrarium

I made this little beauty for a secret santa exchange this past weekend. It looks complicated but it's actually very easy. I figured out how to do it by following a tutorial on etsy (http://www.etsy.com/blog/en/2012/make-a-macrame-plant-hanger/)

I chose to forgo the metal ring and tied a loop out of the thick string. I also just tied the end into a knot as apposed to the extra string tying/cutting. I did not add pom poms.

I bought an inexpensive vase from the dollar store as well as some rocks. I then went to a florist and purchased an air plant (ie: tillandsia), which only needs to be dunked in water or given a good spray every 2 weeks. No soil required!

Enjoy! And Happy Holidays!

Summer Lovin

Here are some things I am really liking for the summer season....

1. vintage floral skirt
many of which can be found at etsy.com
lookbook.nu

2. high waisted maxi skirts with crop tops

chicwish.com

3. chambray(as always) and paired with the above two items = heaven
chambray is especially nice in the summer because it's so light. it makes a good cover up at the beach or at night as a jacket

skirt can be found at TheHammockVintage on etsy.com

4. david sedaris
love his dry humor and constant pithy dialogue. this is an easy read that constantly has me giggling out loud, as all of his books do. if you have to pick just one me talk pretty one day is a sure hit.

5. panama hat
works with pretty much any outfit. i'm still on the hunt for this perfect summer hat!

6. alba natural sunscreen for face
doesn't irritate my sensitive skin and is very well priced at $8-10 a bottle

7. white blazer
great in the summer dressed up or down.

8. kimono jackets
love, love love! found this pic on a great blog called Refuses to Label

Can be had on etsy.com from saltwatergypsy

Urban Outfitters

Hopefully it won't be too ambitious of an undertaking but, on upcoming posts, I will try and re-create some of these summer outfits from my own wardrobe.

If I Had a Birthday Wishlist

If I wasn't too old for a Birthday wish list, this would the perfect items for my 27th year. On the positive side, getting older means you get what you want because you buy it yourself ;)
Cheers!
